Thread: ParaBound: An Earthbound Hack?

ParaBound (also typeset .para//Bound) is a hack-in-progress of EarthBound being worked on by Samui and Yerix. The hack will contain many in-jokes from Kitsune Paradise dating back to the Sigma days, as well as several Internet memes and pop culture references.

Changes
Chosen Four
The chosen four will have their genders changed. The default names for them will be Nessa, Paul, Jenna, and Pii.
Nessa's Mother
The mother in this hack will be a "total bitch". In the beginning of the game, she will berate Nessa for not wearing any decent clothing, and yell at her about going outside. Over the phone, she will yell at Nessa for various things. During the final battle, it is intended to make her prayer hurt Nessa and her party critically.
The Family Pet
King will be changed to a Bidoof, with his low level attacks. He will be able to join you twice - first when looking for Sabrina, the second being "whenever" - though he will run away permanently before entering a boss battle, or approach a ladder/rope, as he has a fear of heights.
Minch Family
Pokey will be replaced with Delibird, as well as the rest of the family, except for Picky. Picky has been changed to a young witch named Sabrina, who will become a useful ally in the early parts of the game. She will be highly respected by the Delibird family for unknown reasons, while Delibird is constantly abused by his alcoholic father.
Other
Enemies and bosses will be changed. The hack's new enemies will be of varying themes. Notable are KP in-jokes, internet memes, malware, and creatures of Japanese folklore.
Graphical modification of the overworld has been decided and will start later in the hack's development. Themes being considered are "a mix of feudal Japan and modern times" in one area and a Sonic-style theme in another.
